Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates
The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been intense.
The first season presents a large cast of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.
The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.
That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
