Intensive Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles attacked energy facilities, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
